Surprise!!! The Childrens Place Has Cute Boys Clothes!!!

So I have a confession to make, I hate shopping for the baby bird! I have had the hardest time finding clothes for baby boys that I like. Everything is so blah or just ugly. I never had this problem with the Haylei and Sumarah bird. I have been hunting around online to find some things I like, and while I have found some awesome stuff, the price tag is not so awesome. I was so happy and relieved to find that the childrens Place had some awesomely adorable clothes for my little bird and surprise! They are affordable, in fact a lot of them are 25% off right now. I did pick up the items pictured above and then a few... Go check out all the cute stuff, oh and the girls clothes are to die for too!

He has arrived...

Sorry for the absence. My beautiful son has arrived. I will include some quick pics later tonight, and hopefully his hospital photos next week. We are over the moon, he is my little man, and looks exactly like his daddy. Mayson Christopher Hofeditz arrived July 7th, 2010 at 3:26 a.m. He weighed in at a tiny 7 lbs 2 oz and 20" long, The tiniest of the Hofeditz children though he came 2 weeks early. I will also share his birth story tomorrow, as for now I am snuggling with my baby and my little girlie birds. There is truely nothing sweeter than being a mom......

Rag Edge Receiving Blanket Tutorial....

I thought I would post the super easy tutorial for the receiving blankets I am making. I promise not only are they the easiest receiving blankets you'll ever make, but they are my favorite. They have a ragged edge, and the more they get washed the better they look and feel. Here is the super easy how to here.

Sewing Away....

So I am busy sewing away. I decided to make a few receiving blankets for the little bird today. Last week I made a stack of burp clothes. I kinda like the idea of making a lot of the little ones baby basics instead of buying them, plus it helps to keep me at home and off my feet. I would love to know how to knit baby booties. Does anyone have an easy tutorial for a beginner on how to do this?

Thumb Sucking...

So my three year old still sucks her thumb. I don't really know if she is too big to do this or not. My six year old was a pacifier baby, which was much easier to deal with. Just after her first birthday I threw out all of the pacifiers and that was that. But, there is no way to throw my little ones thumb away! Truth be told I sucked my thumb as a child, so did my brother. I remember stopping on my own at age five when I started kindergarten. My brother not so much. She doesn't do it all the time, only when she is upset or tired, but I fear the longer she does it, the harder it will be to stop. She does look pretty darn cute doing it though! It makes me wonder, what is this little bird gonna be like? Will he like a pacifier, or passey as they are referred to in my home, or will he be a thumb sucker? Maybe he will like neither. So my lovlies, any opinions on what age is to old to be sucking their thumb?

Framing Small Pictures in a Nursery...

I have been trying to figure out how to frame a set of three small pictures in my little pups nursery. This made me feel so much better, I love how the yellow in the images was also used as the color of the frames. Also this is a great conformation to me that you can matte a white matte with an image that has a white background. Check out the adorable nursery featured on the always inspiring odeedoh here.

Planet Rug...

I did a little shopping over the weekend for baby items. I picked up a new boppy slip cover, a bright red metal trash can for the nursary, an awesome rocket ship night light, a new bumper pad and some red canvas curtain panels. Last night while I was surfin' the web for a rug, I found this.... and needless to say I fell in love. This is the rug I want, it is soooo cute. I found it on overstock.com and the price is really not all that bad for how large it is. Check it out here.

Boppy Bounce Chair..... For $17 Bucks???

So I have another confession to make, I am obsessed with consignment shops. Not only because you can pick up unique, rare, not to mention affordable things, but because I am in love with the hunt. One of my favorite consignment stores, which happens to be a children's consignment store, just got in this boppy bounce chair. I had been looking for a nice bounce chair and didn't feel like spending $50 bucks since this is DEFINITELY my last baby. So I picked up this chair, which doesn't even look like it was actually used! Retail price $44.99 ( and still available on amazon, walmart.com, target.com and babies r us) for $16.99. Oh yes score!!!If you haven't'
scowered your local consignment shops lately, I suggest you do, you never know what great things you can find.

Beautiful Nursing Covers...

I am so infatuated with the beautiful nursing covers available at the utter covers website. I have just ordered this one called Jones for myself. Check out all the beautiful options here... Also message me to find out how you can score any of these covers for free, Yes, I said free. That is a $32 dollar value, you only pay the shipping which is $9.99. Even if you are not nursing, these are beautiful gifts for a baby shower!

Yay, the crib...

So here is the crib and changing table we have picked out for our little pup. I was so excited to find an affordable set in the color I wanted. And even better, my wonderful mother in law ordered them for us as our early baby shower gift. I have already begun making the bedding, and i found the cutest robot pillows at target. I will post pictures as the room comes together, which should be interesting because I have to find a way to convert without eliminating the playroom into our little guys nursery. Any creative ways to do this? Please send me any ideas you have, because I am quite stumped right now.

Vintage Robots Rock My World....

So I have been nursery planning. I am so set on having a vintage robot toy theme. I still don't know what the sex of this baby is yet, but I just can't get these robots out of my head!!! I like this Saturn lamp from land of nod, the vintage style space pictures are from land of nod, the alarm clock is from tin toy arcade. The fabric is by Alexander Henry. I am planning on making a coverlet for the crib from this. I am also planning to decorate the nursary shelves with vintage tin toy robots.

Traveling with baby....

How awesome is this? I wish I had this for my other two poppets when they were babies. I just spotted this on ohdeedoh. There are nine other travel crib posts featured as well, but this one just caught my eye. Why is all the good stuff always in Belgium? It's made by Delta baby. Check out more info here.
