For the Love of clothes.... What I Wore : Black and White All Over

Hello my lovilies!!!  Happy Friday to you all!  Had an awesome workout followed by a light lunch and now the birdies and I are off to Trader Joes to get the mama some of her favorite eats!  Snapped a couple of quick pic's before I head out.  I have been favoring black and white a lot lately!  I am also channeling a pompadour a lot lately... I have a hair appointment tomorrow and am debating whether to leave in long on top.  Here is what I am wearing:

Black button down collared shirt by For You, white shorts from Aeropostale, black croc. belt from New York and Company, horseshoe necklace and Movado watch gifted by the daddy bird, white pearl Honora bracelet my first Christmas gift from my mother in law 8 years ago, Black satchel bag by Dooney & Burke, black and white sandles by Dexter (one of my new favs) and sunglasses from Aeropostale.

Hope you have a happy Friday!

Smooches!!!!

Fur Ball Monster Cupcakes for Halloween....

How cute are these? I love finding new ideas for cupcakes.... this one is featured in the new book, "What's New Cupcake?" Here is the full recipe...

FUR BALL MONSTERS:

Ingredients:
- 12 vanilla cupcakes baked in orange, green, and purple paper
- 12 mini vanilla cupcakes, paper liners removed
- 1 can (16 oz) vanilla frosting
- Neon green, orange, and purple food coloring
- 24 mini lollipops (Dum Dums), unwrapped
- 24 peach or green apple gummy rings (O’s)
- 24 brown mini candy coated chocolates (M&M’s Minis)
- 12 assorted color candy-coated chocolates (M&M’s Minis)

Directions:
1. Spoon 2 tablespoons vanilla frosting into a small ziplock bag. Divide the remaining vanilla frosting among three bowls and tint each a different color with the food coloring. Spoon each color of frosting into a separate ziplock bag, press out the excess air, and seal the bags.

2. Insert a lollipop stick through a gummy ring, pushing it through the candy from the center to outer edge. Bring the gummy ring up around the lollipop, like a bonnet, to make the eyes. Continue with the remaining gummy rings and lollipops.

3. Snip a small (1/8-inch) corner from the bags with the frostings. Pipe a dot of tinted frosting on top of the standard cupcakes. Place a mini cupcake on top, flat side down. Starting at the edge of the standard cupcake and using the tinted frosting, pipe furn with a squeeze-release-pull action. Continue until the entire exposed cupcake assembly is covered. Repeat with the remaining cupcakes and colored frosting.

4. Insert 2 like-colored lollipop eyes into the top of each cupcake assembly. Pipe a dot of vanilla frosting in the center of each lollipop and add a brown candy for the pupil. Add a colored candy to the top of the frosting for the nose. Repeat with the remaining lollipop eyes and cupcakes.

So adorable!!! So glad I found this on the awesome blog Hostess with the Mostess.....

Awesome Bug Themed Cupcakes...

So as my soon to be 4 year olds birthday party slowly approaches, I found myself debating over the usual cake or cupcakes question. I truly wanted to make the birthday treat for my daughter instead of store buying one, which I usually do. Now I do have a confession to make, I am not a baker. The truth is I suck at it! I have a friend who bakes all of her childrens cakes, from scratch. Yes even the frosting.... and I envy her ability to do so, yes Krista I mean you! Now I can bake cupcakes, those are easy, so that was my deciding factor. While I was surfing around the net getting ideas for what kind of cupcakes to make I came across these awesome bug inspired cupcakes over on Hostess with the Mostess. Can we say so cute? I especially love the ant cupcakes!

I was reminded of them when my six year old told me I had to bring cupcakes to her class for there valentines day exchange. I thought I would post the pdf here so you can use them if you are interested. I am going to put these adorable pennants on the tops of her cupcakes.
